UEFA coronavirus conference call: Euro 2020, Champions League and Premier League on the agenda

The first of three important meetings regarding football this week is taking place today amid the coronavirus pandemic that has rocked European football to the core.

UEFA confirmed last Friday that all fixtures in the Champions League and Europa League had been suspended due to the outbreak.

The governing body also announced that the draws for the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Europa League, planned for next Friday, have also been postponed.

Coronavirus cases: The spread outside China

All of Europe’s top leagues have faced widespread disruption, with the Premier League also postponing fixtures until the start of April at the earliest.

One suggestion in the media in the last few days was that UEFA could make a 'final four' tournament to complete this season’s Champions League and Europa League.

It remains to be seen whether that would be the case, but with the governing body set to meet today an update on what is to come next is likely to be provided.

And below everything we know about the meeting already.

Where is it?

Normally UEFA meetings take place at their Nyon headquarters in Switzerland.

But given the current outbreak affecting every country around Europe, the governing body have made the call to conduct the meeting via video conference.

What time?

No official time has been given by UEFA as to when the meeting will commence, but it's expected to start in the morning and finish by late afternoon.

Who is attending?

UEFA have invited representatives of its 55 member associations, together with the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro.

What's on the agenda?

UEFA have confirmed that domestic and European competitions, as well as UEFA EURO 2020 will be on the agenda.

Depending on the outcome of the discussions, any decisions made could also have a knock-on effect ahead of the summer transfer window, with many players out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

There will be three call as detailed by the Mirror.
