UEFA confirms Euro 2020 changes as Dublin axed and Wembley could host extra England game

England could play an extra Euro 2020 match at Wembley after the national stadium replaced Dublin on the list of approved venues.

Wembley will now host a last-16 tie on June 29, taking the total number of London matches to eight, with Dublin removed after it could not commit to allowing a minimum number of fans into the Aviva Stadium due to dangerous coronavirus rates.

Should England win Group D then they will play their last-16 match at Wembley against the runners-up of Group F, which features France, Portugal and Germany.

Dublin's three Group E matches have all been moved to St Petersburg, which was already hosting three matches in Group B.

Bilbao have also been stripped of their four matches, with all moving to Seville.

Munich has also been confirmed as a host after they assured UEFA they could host 14,500 fans.

“We have been working diligently with the host associations and local authorities to ensure a safe and festive environment at the games and I am really pleased that we are able to welcome spectators at all matches for a celebration of national team football across the continent," said UEFA chief Aleksander Ceferin.

"UEFA wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude to the cities of Bilbao and Dublin – both of which are considered as good venues to host future UEFA events – the national and regional governments of Spain and the Republic of Ireland, and all local stakeholders for their dedication, professionalism and efforts over the past years.

"UEFA would also like to thank the Football Association of Ireland and its dedicated staff for their excellent collaboration and hard work, and is looking forward to continuing to work with the remaining eleven host associations in delivering UEFA EURO 2020 matches."
