UEFA confirm Coronavirus outbreak means European Championships will be delayed

Euro 2020 will not go ahead this summer.

After a meeting this morning, UEFA have confirmed that the tournament is now scheduled to take place in 2021.

The move had been expected after the COVID-19 outbreak prompted a shutdown of football across Europe.

Scotland had been scheduled to meet Israel in the Euro 2020 playoff on March 26, but that game has been postponed.

UEFA are yet to release a statement, but the Norwegian Football Association has tweeted: "UEFA has decided that the European Championship is postponed to 2021.

"It will be played from 11 June to 11 July next year.

"More information coming."

Had Scotland beaten Israel, they would have taken part in the playoff final on March 31.
