UEFA 'concerned' over Scottish Government's Euro 2020 approach as Hampden clashes could be moved to England

UEFA are reportedly anxious that a "hardline attitude" from the Scottish Government may force them to move Hampden's Euro 2020 fixtures.

The national stadium is due to host three group games - two of which involve Steve Clarke's playoff kings - and a last 16 tie in the summer finals, which are still as of yet being held across 12 different European cities.

The Covid-19 pandemic and the different approaches from the governments involved have thrown those plans into doubt, however, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson insisting he'd step forward if England was required to take on additional games.

And it could be the case that they assume control of the four games set to take place in Mount Florida.

The European governing body are growing increasingly concerned over Holyrood's lack of enthusiasm when it comes to admitting fans, according to the Times.

It's thought out of all 12 host nations, Scotland has proposed admitting the lowest number of fans, while 10,000 punters set to be admitted to games in England from the start of the tournament before all restrictions are planned to be lifted on June 21.

Dublin is understood to be the other host city causing similar problems, with the Aviva Stadium in the Irish capital also earmarked for matches.

A UEFA spokesman said: "UEFA is committed to holding Euro 2020 across 12 European cities. There are no other plans being pursued."
