Uefa has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Scottish and Polish football associations after a string of incidents at Thursday’s Euro 2016 qualifier.
A series of flares were let off in and thrown from the section containing Poland fans at Hampden Park during and after the 2-2 draw. A young fan also entered the field of play unchallenged in the closing stages of the match and took a selfie with Poland’s Robert Lewandowski.
Uefa’s attention regarding Poland focuses on the “setting off and throwing of fireworks” along with throwing of objects and a “fight with stewards”.
The Scottish FA has also been cited on what is a lengthy charge sheet. Uefa points towards blocked stairways, failure to search supporters appropriately before entering the stadium and the field invasion.
This marks further embarrassment for the Scottish game’s governing body, which on the field has presided over nine failed qualification attempts in succession.
Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body will deal with both nations on 22 October.
