ROME (Reuters) - Serie A club Udinese sacked coach Massimo Oddo on Tuesday after 11 straight defeats in the league and announced he would be replaced by former Croatia and Juventus defender Igor Tudor.
After losing at home to fellow strugglers Crotone on Sunday, Udinese now occupy 15th place in the standings, just four points above the relegation zone.
"Udinese announces that it has relieved Massimo Oddo and his coaching staff from their positions in charge of the first team," the north-eastern club said in a brief statement on its website.
Oddo, a member of Italy's 2006 World Cup winning squad, joined Udinese as manager in November last year replacing Luigi Delneri.
Udinese said Tudor will be officially presented as the new coach at a news conference later on Tuesday.
Tudor has most recently managed Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Karabukspor.
