Uddingston Strathclyde Pipe Band performed well at World Pipe Band Championships

Uddingston Strathclyde Pipe Band performed well at the World Pipe Band Championships, held at Glasgow Green over the weekend of August 16 and 17.

Following their second-placed finish in the European Championships and fourth place in the Scottish Championships, the Grade 2 band gained a very commendable sixth place in the World Championships, in only their first year in Grade 2.

The band came through a tough qualifying round against stiff international competition and were the only Scottish band in the prize list.

And the Grade 4B band did particularly well to qualify for the final of their grade, but were unlucky not to make the prize list after a very solid performance in the final.

Well done to everyone who took part.
