Uddingston man Steve Russell is made up to be starring in a Christmas cracker.
He will be taking to the stage as Widow Twankey when Aladdin brings his flying carpet to Hamilton for this year’s panto.
And the dame can’t wait to show the audience A Whole New World of fun and laughs.
Steve, who is currently teaching drama at the Glasgow Acting Academy and directing youth theatre productions, said: “I can’t wait to return to Hamilton Town House for my sixth year as the dame in this year’s exciting panto, Aladdin.
“Having grown up in South Lanarkshire, it is wonderful to feel the real sense of community spirit as families, friends, schools and organisations from across Hamilton and South Lanarkshire come together to share a giggle, a song and a dance at the annual Christmas panto throughout the most wonderful time of the year.”
The co-production employs the talents of professional actors working alongside students from New College Lanarkshire.
Now in its seventh year, it will also be staged at Rutherglen Town Hall.
Charlie Ingham, venues manager at Hamilton Town House, said: “Our teams in both venues work closely with New College Lanarkshire all year round to make sure that our pantomime is a great experience for the audience, as well as a showcase for local talent.”
Steve will perform alongside Wishaw’s Scott Fleming as Aladdin, Dionne Frati as Wishy Washy, Hannah Berry as Jasmine and Mellissa-Jane Deans as Abi-Nazar.
The Hamilton show will run from Saturday, November 30, to Sunday, December 8.
And the show will be at Rutherglen Town Hall from Wednesday, December 11, to Monday, December 23.
