No. 9 UConn showcased their resilience once again as they defeated Providence 86-53 in the Big East quarterfinals despite losing star center Aaliyah Edwards to a facial injury. Paige Bueckers led the way with 29 points, while freshman KK Arnold added 17 points for the Huskies.

UConn, who finished the regular season undefeated in the Big East, secured a spot in the conference semifinals for the 36th consecutive season. Edwards, who had 12 points before her injury, left the game in the second half, leaving her status for the remainder of the tournament uncertain.

The Huskies, who entered the tournament with just eight available players due to multiple season-ending injuries, faced adversity once again. Despite the challenges, UConn coach Geno Auriemma commended his team's resilience, stating, 'This is it, this is what we've got.'

Providence, led by Grace Efosa's 23 points and eight rebounds, put up a strong fight, trailing by only 10 points at halftime. However, UConn responded to the injury to Edwards by outscoring Providence 45-18 for the remainder of the game.
