UConn, Notre Dame extend women's basketball series through 2023-2024 season

HARTFORD, Conn. _ UConn and Notre Dame will play each other in women's basketball each season through at least 2023-24, the schools announced Thursday.

With the current agreement between the two programs set to expire after this coming season, the Huskies and Fighting Irish set dates for four future games. UConn will visit South Bend, Ind., in 2020-21 and 2022-23 and welcome Notre Dame to Storrs in 2021-22 and 2023-24.

UConn and Notre Dame have played each other at least once every season since the Fighting Irish joined the Big East in 1995. Many of those matchups have come in the Final Four, where Notre Dame has won four of seven contests, including in the national semifinal this past spring.

Overall, the Huskies are 37-13 against the Fighting Irish in program history.

UConn and Notre Dame will meet Dec. 8 at Gampel Pavilion in the final game of the teams' current agreement.
