Uche Ikpeazu wins Hearts appeal over yellow card for diving

Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu has had his yellow card for diving against Aberdeen rescinded by the SFA.

The striker was booked by referee John Beaton during the 2-1 win at Tynecastle on Saturday but it's now been overturned after a hearing at Hampden on Wednesday.

But video footage showed Joe Lewis did catch the Hearts striker inside the box and the caution has now been wiped from his record.

Ikpeazu could return for the game against Hibs at the weekend after suffering a concussion in the Premiership clash.

He will miss Wednesday's game against Rangers but will face Hearts' city rivals, if he passes protocol relating to his head knock.

Craig Levein was left frustrated over the call which came before his side's winner against Derek McInnes' side.

The Hearts boss said: “It’s a stonewall penalty, clear contact.

"John said he thought he dived, fair enough, but he didn't and it’s clear a penalty you’ll ever see.”
