Uche Ikpeazu in lion’s roar as Rangers star Nikola Katic is fired Betfred Cup warning

Uche Ikpeazu has fired a warning to Nikola Katic as the pair prepare to duel again in a fortnight’s time.

The big Hearts striker enjoyed a fine performance on Sunday as the capital club secured a surprise 1-1 draw against Rangers that dented their title hopes.

Ikpeazu was a mammoth presence at Tynecastle and a constant thorn in the side of Katic during a titanic tussle.

Hearts face Steven Gerrard’s side in the Betfred Cup semi-finals at Hampden on Sunday, November 3, with the chance to take on either Hibs or Celtic in the Final.

And Ikpeazu, 24, cannot wait to renew his rivalry with Katic.

He aimed a dig at the Croatia centre-back with a post on Instagram.

Uploading a picture of him helping Katic back on his feet following the final whistle, Ikpeazu added a caption "See you in two weeks" along with an emoji of a lion.

Ikpeazu’s performance against Rangers prompted Craig Levein to say: "When  Uche Ikpeazu  is fit and focused he is a really difficult player to play against. He was excellent as was Michael Smith at the other end.

"The pleasing thing for me is we made one mistake and in previous matches we have made a lot more. Maybe today is a step in the right direction.

"I hope this can kickstart our season as obviously we've had our problems, but this will give our players some confidence."
