Uche Ikpeazu earns £1m move as ex-Hearts striker nears Middlesbrough transfer

Former Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu is set to complete a big money move to Middlesbrough, according to a report.

The frontman joined Wycombe last summer and despite relegation to League One, he's set to stay in the Championship by joining Boro.

And it will cost Neil Warnock's men £1million to sign him, with £750k of that up front and the rest to follow in add-ons, according to Sky Sports.

It's a huge move for the former Hearts man, who played 55 times for the club over two years before the Covid-19 pandemic brought an early end to his time in the capital.

The 26-year-old impressed during his early days at the club but struggled for goals and netted just 10 times, with five of those in the Premiership.

Celtic and Rangers were both linked with moves for him during his early days at Tynecastle but injuries and a loss of form meant he struggled to get back to that level.

Now he has a chance to impress again in the Championship with Middlesbrough taking a chance to sign him to strengthen their attacking options.
