#9 UCF

The University of Central Florida needed a win. After flaming out of the American Athletic Conference in the quarterfinals, their momentum was gone. But a huge first half against VCU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament changed that. Tacko Fall led UCF with 13 points and an incredible 18 rebounds. The 7’ 6” big man is the tallest college basketball player ever, and amongst the 60 tallest people ever recorded. And against a Duke team that lives and breathes on getting to the rim, he could be the difference-maker.

#1 Duke

The Duke Blue Devils enter the NCAA Tournament as the number one overall seed in the country, and they might as well be the favorites to win it all. After a 26-5 record in the regular season, Duke dominated the ACC Tournament in Charlotte, beating Syracuse, North Carolina and Florida State with three fantastic performances. The Blue Devils welcomed Zion Williamson back from a knee injury, and the freshman phenomenon was unbelievable in Charlotte, with 81 points in three games and exceptional defense. Williamson is Duke’s biggest hope to win the National Championship, but his freshman teammates, especially Tre Jones and RJ Barrett, will provide him with great support. A tepid first half against North Dakota State turned quickly into a route come the second half, as Zion led the way. The Blue Devils love bossing their opponents down low, which will prove difficult against UCF big man Tacko Fall. But if they can spread the floor and hit some mid-range shots, the Sweet Sixteen is theirs.
