UCF romps over Pittsburgh, 45-14, extends nation's longest win streak to 17 games

ORLANDO, Fla. _ The heat index on the field of Spectrum Stadium reached triple digits Saturday, but it was nothing compared to the UCF offense's blazing performance.

Quarterback McKenzie Milton accounted for six touchdowns for the second consecutive game and Adrian Killins earned a career-high 141 yards and a touchdown, helping No. 13 UCF (4-0, 1-0 AAC) rout Pittsburgh, 45-14.

The Knights extended the nation's longest win streak to 17 games, setting a new school and American Athletic Conference record.

The UCF offense stalled early thanks to a pair of false start penalties before Milton found Killins out of the backfield on a swing pass that the talented running back took 64 yards down to the Pitt 5-yard line.

Two plays later, Milton faked a pitch to the back and dove into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown and the first points of the game.

After forcing a three-and-out on defense, UCF took over at its own 21-yard line. Milton moved the offense down the field through the air and on the ground. He had a 13-yard scramble on a third-and-12 to extend the drive and found Marlon Williams down the right side of the field for a 27-yard gain. On the next play, Milton lofted a ball deep to Gabriel Davis, who made a catch in the end zone for the score.

It was Milton's 18th consecutive game with a touchdown pass.

Pitt got on the scoreboard thanks to an 85-yard punt return by Rafael Araujo-Lopes with 1:13 left in the first quarter. It was the first time UCF gave up a touchdown on a punt return since giving up one against Arkansas State in the Cure Bowl in 2016.

UCF responded with a 75-yard scoring drive capped by a 23-yard Milton touchdown run, his second rushing touchdown of the day and the second consecutive game with multiple rushing touchdowns.

The Panthers put together their best offensive possession of the first half, taking more than six minutes off the clock before getting to the Knights' 27 yard-line, but Kenny Pickett's pass down the middle of the field was intercepted by UCF's Ritchie Grant at the 8-yard line.

It was Grant's third interception of the season and the 23rd consecutive game UCF has forced a takeaway.

As they've done often this season, the Knights took advantage of the turnover. Milton drove the team 67 yards before finding tight end Michael Colubiale in the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown pass that put UCF up 28-7. It was the fourth touchdown for Milton and it gave the team 42 points off turnovers this season.

UCF added a 21-yard Matthew Wright field goal to push the lead to 31-7 at the half.

The Knights kept the pressure on the Panthers to open the second half.

Milton found Killins for a 71-yard touchdown pass that took all of 43 seconds off the clock and pushed the lead to 38-7.

Milton connected with Otis Anderson on a 13-yard touchdown pass with about seven minutes left in the game to push the lead to 45-7.

The quarterback's performance, however, was far from perfect.

The junior completed just over 50 percent of his passes, overthrowing several receivers on deep plays. Despite the issues, he cracked the 300-yard passing mark for the second consecutive game and the third time this season.
