UCF falls in shocker at home to Navy, loses control in AAC

ORLANDO, Fla. — Mikey Keene started the second half at quarterback for UCF in place of John Rhys Plumlee as the Knights fell, 17-14, to Navy on Saturday inside FBC Mortgage Stadium.

Standouts

UCF

— Keene: The sophomore quarterback went 8 for 15 for 123 yards and one touchdown in just the second half.

— Javon Baker: The Alabama transfer led the team with 101 receiving yards on six catches for one touchdown

— Isaiah Bowser: The running back ran for 64 yards on 10 carries, both of which led the team.

Navy

— Daba Fofana: The sophomore fullback recorded a game-high 114 yards on 20 carries while averaging 5.7 yards per rush.

— Xavier Arline: The junior quarterback only threw one pass all game but ran the ball 14 times for 24 yards and a touchdown.

Noteworthy

— UCF lost 30 yards on 5 Navy sacks. John Marshall’s four sacks are a single-game Navy record.

— Navy’s first-quarter touchdown marked the first time the Midshipmen scored on their opening possession this season.

— The Knights settled for a pair of field goals on their first two trips to the red zone in the first half.

— Plumlee was pulled after passing 11 for 18 for 107 yards and an interception. He had two carries for seven yards.
