UCD remain in talks with Manchester City over star turns Liam Scales and Neil Farrugia.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 duo were on trial with the reigning Premier League champions’ Under-23 side last month.
There was speculation yesterday that Scales was close to finalising terms but College have denied that a move is imminent.
Both players have imminent exams to contend with and UCD boss Collie O’Neill said last night: “There’s nothing happening for the time being.
“It’s not off the table but there’s no firm offer. It hasn’t got any further than talk between the agents and the clubs.”
