UCD boss Collie O'Neill: 'There is none of 'ah, crap, we have to play these', there is full confidence within the squad that we can get wins'

Bullish Collie O'Neill insists UCD are not looking over their shoulders at this early stage of the season.

The Students dropped into the bottom two after Friday's defeat to Derry City, leaving them three points off Sligo Rovers and Waterford above them.

But O'Neill remains optimistic ahead of a tough run of games that sees UCD take on Cork City tonight, before also playing Bohemians and Dundalk.

“That doesn’t worry me - there is a long, long way to go,” O’Neill told the Irish Mirror.

“I can’t argue with the majority of how we’re playing. Because we have such a small squad and we are so young... it takes for everybody to be at it for us to get something out of games.

“We went into Friday night thinking we could win. It will be the same against Cork and the same at Bohs on Friday.

“There is none of 'ah, crap, we have to play these', there is full confidence within the squad that we can get wins.”
