Ubon Ratchathani International Airport resumed normal services on Wednesday morning after an electrical short circuit forced it to shut down on Tuesday evening.
The airport was closed at 7.20pm on Tuesday and reopened to all flights at 8am, Darun Saengchai, director-general of the Department of Airports, said on Wednesday .
The problem began with a short circuit at the airport electricity control building around 6pm on Tuesday, causing problems with power supply that led to its closure, Mr Darun said.
The department had completed repairs overnight and the airport was now operating as normal, he said.
Nok Air flight DD6400 from Don Mueang airport was due to arrive at Ubon Ratchathani airport at 9 am to pick up passengers stranded there last night, Mr Darun said.
The airline’s flight DD9312 was rescheduled to land at the airport on 9.30am. Other flights were operating as scheduled.
He said a total of seven flights were affected by the airport's temporary shutdown.
