The Ubiquitous Chip is undoubtedly a Glasgow institution, and it's hard to argue that it's definitely earned its 'ubiquitous' status.

But the restaurant seems to have decided it's time for a rebrand...with unlikely inspiration coming from Sarah Vine.

In case you missed the fun, the journalist and wife of UK Cabinet Minister Michael Gove had a hilarious slip-up when she recalled bygone visits to a mysterious restaurant called the "Ubiquitous Fish".

Responding to a tweet announcing plans for the UK's Cabinet Office to create new headquarters in Glasgow, Ms Vine said: "I like Glasgow. Used to go there quite a lot when I was a youngster. Ubiquitous fish, west end etc. They’ll love it."

The tweet gained plenty of attention, with people keen learn more about the 'Ubiquitous Fish'.

And now the Ubiquitous Chip itself (the real restaurant - not the fictional Sarah Vine version) has got in on the fun.

The restaurant shared its new logo and name on Twitter...and it's safe to say it's been an enthusiastic response.

Well played, Ubiquitous Chip. We can't wait for the inevitable third rebrand to the Ubiquitous Fish and Chips!
