Uber to pay UK drivers minimum wage, holiday pay and pension benefits

BUSINESS DAILY © FRANCE 24

The ride-hailing giant Uber has announced changes in working conditions for its UK drivers, including a minimum wage and holiday pay. The UK's Supreme Court ruled last month the drivers could not be considered as independent contractors. Drivers in the UK, however, have argued they should be paid for time spent waiting for bookings too. Also today, the carmaker Honda is to temporarily shut most of its factories in the United States and Canada over problems with the supply of parts.
