Uber has announced the launch of Courier in the UK.
The new platform is an on-demand delivery service designed to help busy individuals and small businesses to tackle everyday errands and deliveries.
The service will be available via the Uber app across 20 UK cities this summer and is already available in Sheffield, Edinburgh, Stoke, Glasgow, Leicester, Oxford, Belfast, Northampton, and Hull. London is set to launch in late 2025.
The company said its platform can be used for “sending forgotten keys across town” or “delivering a last-minute birthday gift”, among other small errands.
It is also a tool for small business owners who need to manage deliveries, from “small dry cleaners to legal firms transporting official documents.”

Courier will leverage Uber’s existing security features, such as live trip tracking, PIN verification, and shareable delivery updates.
The platform will require users to specify pick-up and drop-off locations, as well as describing the item in question. Items must be securely packaged, under 15lbs, and under £200 in value.
"Courier is designed for those moments when something just needs to get done, but you can’t get to it yourself," said Andrew Brem, General Manager at Uber UK. "By offering an easy, reliable way to send and receive items, Courier helps people and small businesses reclaim valuable time for what matters most."
Formerly known as Ubercab, Uber was launched in 2009 as a transportation and taxi service. The online app has since expanded into a food delivery and ridesharing company, with operations in more than 70 countries and 15,000 cities worldwide.
