If you’re out and about in London tomorrow and fancy a change from your regular bus or underground transport, Uber has just the thing for your.
The tech firm is offering Londoners a free 20 minute trip on its electric JUMP bicycles, to celebrate London Car Free Day.
Uber’s JUMP bikes launched in London back in May, and there are now more than 500 e-bikes available across North London.
Fred Jones, Head of New Mobility at Uber, said: “Over time, it's our goal to help people replace their car with their phone by offering a range of mobility options - whether it be cars, bikes or public transport - all in the Uber app.
“Already we’ve seen tens of thousands of JUMP trips taken in London and we can’t think of a better way to get around for Car Free Day.
“For one day, we’re giving Londoners a free 20 minute trip in an effort to encourage active travel across the capital.”

How to get a free e-bike ride
1. Open your Uber app
2. Select ‘Bike’ mode at the top of the app, or by tapping the bicycle in the bottom right corner of the main screen. You’ll then be shown any JUMP bicycles that are nearby
3. Select a bike to ride and click ‘Reserve’
4. Tap ‘Change’ next to your default card information
5. Click ‘Add promo code’ and enter ‘LONDONCARFREEDAY19’. You’re now ready to start your ride!
If this is your first time using an e-bicycle, don’t worry - before your first trip the app will explain the features, so you can ride confidently!
