SAN FRANCISCO _ Shervin Pishevar, who has been accused by multiple women of sexual harassment and misconduct, said Thursday that he was resigning from the venture capital firm he co-founded.
Earlier this month, Pishevar took a leave of absence from his two companies, Sherpa Capital and Hyperloop One.
The venture capitalist, who was also an early Uber investor, denies the allegations.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Pishevar said that he's faced "untruthful attacks" even after he announced a leave of absence so he decided to resign from Sherpa Capital.
Pishevar said he plans to focus on legal actions against those who are behind what he has called a "smear campaign" against him.
Pishevar's resignation echoes the consequences that other Silicon Valley venture capitalists have faced after they were accused of sexual harassment.
In November, Bloomberg reported that at least five women allege they were sexually harassed or assaulted by Pishevar.
Some women alleged that the venture capitalist groped and forcibly kissed them or used his power to try to pressure them into having sex.
Pishevar co-founded Sherpa Capital with Scott Stanford in 2013.
