Uber free ice cream: How to get cold complimentary treats delivered to your door

Uber will be giving out free ice cream to its customers across the UK today – and the drivers will bring it right to your door.

This Friday August 12, between the hours of 11am and 7pm, the ride hailing company will be delivering ice creams to customers across 17 cities in the UK including London, Manchester and Edinburgh among others.

Uber is running the summer promotion to push its new UberEATS, which launched in London in June.

The promotion had been originally planned for July 15, but was rescheduled following the terror attack in Nice.

Uber has 35,000 ice-creams to give out and will be teaming up with POPS - the premium ice popsicle company made in Britain using natural ingredients.

The number of products delivered in each city will depend on its size.

To get yours all you have to do is open Uber or UberEATS, set your location and request “ice-cream”.

If the request is successful the ice-cream will be delivered to you within minutes.

The company is expecting high demand and some customers have already been sharing their disappointment on Twitter.

While other were more lucky:

UberEATs, Uber’s food delivery app, has been delivering lunch, snacks and dinner to Londoners from 11am to 11pm, seven days a week for two months.

The app allows users to order food from 150 restaurants including frozen yoghurt chain Snog, Lebanese restaurant Comptoir Libanais, Vietnamese street food restaurant Pho and La Bodega Negra, a Soho-based Mexican restaurant.
