Uber Eats on the hunt for Edinburgh drivers after surge in lockdown takeaways

Uber Eats are on the hunt for more drivers in Edinburgh, as lockdown causes a surge in the number of takeaways.

The online delivery company have stated they are searching for both full and part time drivers, with full flexibility on when you work and which jobs you pick up.

The system works in a very similar fashion to Uber itself, with drivers registering their vehicle or bike and receiving a fee based on how much they have worked.

After registering, successful candidates can download an app where after pressing 'go', different delivery jobs will appear with the drivers able to choose which ones the pick up.

Edinburgh has seen a huge rise in the number of takeaways in recent weeks, as lockdown has meant many popular restaurants and other eateries have not been open to the public.

As there is no in-store access, restaurants such as McDonalds and KFC have been using the Uber Eats app to provide home delivery for those who cannot access a drive thru.
