Uber Eats launches in Stanley - and McDonald’s is on the menu

Uber Eats has launched in Stanley.

The food delivery service has expanded into the County Durham town, as of Thursday.

Fast food giant McDonald's is among the restaurants and takeaways which have signed up, as are Beamish Mary Inn and Fast Fry.

Uber Eats expects to sign up more partners over the coming weeks.

Toussaint Wattinne, general manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said: “We are really excited to be launching in Stanley, firstly with McDonald’s, and a host of local restaurants joining in the coming weeks.

"As the nation’s lockdown slowly beings to lift, we hope to make it even easier for local residents to enjoy a variety of delicious food both comfortably and safely.”

To use Uber Eats, customers must download its app on their phone or order via ubereats.com.

The app is available to use seven-days-a-week from 8am to midnight.

Uber Eats says it has introduced measures to help ensure that every courier can access the PPE they need for free to help keep them safe when they deliver with Uber Eats.

As well as providing free sanitising products, Uber Eats is providing couriers with over one million masks.
