As we’re set to experience temperatures as warm as Barcelona this Bank Holiday weekend, Uber Eats has teamed up with Asda to give away Garnier Ambre Solaire Clear Protect SPF 30 sun cream for a limited time.
Customers in eight coastal cities across the UK can order their free sun cream via the Uber Eats app - by simply by placing an order from Asda worth £5 or more. Locations include Blackpool, Bournemouth, Brighton, Broadstairs, Cardiff Bay, Clacton on Sea, Eastbourne and Great Yarmouth.
Uber Eats will deliver the skin-saving items with an average delivery time of less than 30 minutes, meaning anyone who fears they might go lobster-red in the garden, or simply wants to ensure they protect themselves with SPF, can quickly get hold of the essentials. Customers should order in good time though, as the offer is only available from Friday 27th until September, while stocks last.

The offer follows a nationwide poll revealing that just 22% of Brits always wear sun cream when it’s sunny in the UK, despite double that figure (46%) making sure to slap on the SPF when going abroad. Despite almost a third of people (29%) thinking it’s unlikely they’ll need sun cream in this country, 37% of the nation have already suffered sunburn at least once this year.
Those in Manchester and Belfast were the most likely to wear sun cream in the UK, while those in Leeds and Liverpool admitted to being less cautious.

Even when the sun isn’t shining, harmful UV rays can still cause damage to the skin. As 44% consider sun cream to be an expensive purchase, this free product will help Brits to look after their skin by wearing the correct SPF.
Data has also revealed that 38% of UK adults admit to burning easily, so along with the sun cream some extra steps may still be required. While sun cream offers some protection, the best way to enjoy the sun safely and protect your skin is to use a combination of shade, clothing and sunscreen. Generously applying a high factor of SPF regularly throughout the day will help to avoid painful sunburn and damage.

Sunjiv Shah, General Manager at Uber Eats, said: “When we’re soaking up the rays here in the UK it’s easy to forget to wear adequate sun protection, which is why we’ve launched this new promotion just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend.
“Uber Eats now offers far more than just food, and partnering with Asda is the perfect way to make sure our customers are able to enjoy the summer sun safely.”
