Uber Eats and Deliveroo rival drivers caught on dashcam fighting after crash

Delivery drivers working for rival companies, Uber Eats and Deliveroo, have been caught on camera fighting following a crash.

Footage recorded by a driver who witnessed the motorcycle crash on the junction in the middle of Gallowgate, Newcastle, at about 6.50pm Monday.

In the video, both workers can be seen embroiled in a fight.

Drivers held up in the traffic behind them angrily honked their horns as the confrontation spilled into the road, reports Chronicle Live.

Then the Deliveroo driver, wearing a helmet, can be seen throwing a punch before the Uber Eats worker attempts to wrestle his opposite number to the floor.

Angry drivers can be heard beeping their horns in an attempt to break up the fight, as traffic is held up at the busy junction.

With their motorcycles laid in the road, the pair remain in a brawl with the Deliveroo employee seen swinging a punch at the end of the clip.

Police were called to the scene to reports of a minor road traffic collision in the city centre.

Officers confirmed no arrests have been made in relation to the incident but said inquiries were ongoing.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "At about 6.50pm on Monday police received a report of a collision between two motorcycles on the junction of Newgate Street and Percy Street in Newcastle city centre.

"Nobody was seriously injured and traffic was not affected in the area.

"Officers are aware of footage being circulated on social media that shows the two drivers of the motorcycles involved having an altercation following the collision.

"Nobody has been arrested but enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
