Whether it’s venting about an ex or discussing the meaning of life, Uber drivers are often subjected to weird and wonderful conversations with their passengers.
While most passengers are unlikely to encounter the same driver again, a new report suggests that that could soon change.
Jane Manchun Wong, a developer form Hong Kong, claims that Uber is working on a new way for customers to favourite drivers on the app .
Ms Wong spotted the feature in a beta version of the app, and posted a screenshot on Twitter.
She wrote: “Uber is testing (?) an option to add drivers as your favourite so you can ride with them in the future.”
The screenshot suggests that after a trip, customers will be given the option to add the driver as a favourite, alongside the current rating and compliment options.
While it remains unclear when, or if, Uber plans to roll the feature out to customers, the initial reaction hasn’t been great.
One user replied: “How about a blocker as well? Nearly killed by one driver.”
Another added: “Stalking features, woohoo.”
