UB40 postpone Scottish tour dates amid concern over rising Covid cases

UB40 have postponed their tour dates in Scotland amid fears over rising Covid cases across the country.

The band had been scheduled to play in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh later this month.

But they have now told fans that those gigs will now go ahead in May 2022 to protect ‘fans, crew and band members’ from the virus.

The band made the announcement on Facebook (Facebook/UB40)

Recent data has shown that there has been slight uptick in the number of Covid infections in Scotland.

In Facebook post, the band said that they were ‘extremely frustrated’ by the delay.

UB40 said: “It is with great regret that we are announcing the postponement of our UK/Irish tour dates for 2021 which unfortunately will now be pushed into 2022.

“Our promoters have made this decision due to concerns over rising Covid cases across the country and the safety of our fans, crew and band members.

“We are extremely frustrated at another delay but we hope you understand and we look forward to seeing you all next May.

“We can’t wait to be back on tour and having a long overdue part with all of you.

“We thank you for your incredible patience and continued support throughout these challenging and unprecedented times.”

UB40’s tour dates in Scotland will now be:

  • Usher Hall, Edinburgh - May 25, 2022
  • Barrowlands, Glasgow - May 26, 2022
  • Music Hall, Aberdeen - May 27, 2022
