Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, ordered on Sunday to send 500,000 coronavirus vaccines to Tunisia, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

Later, Sheikh Mohamed received a telephone call from Tunisian President Kais Saied, WAM said.

They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the UAE's keenness to support Tunisia with its efforts to curb the pandemic, WAM added.

Tunisia’s health system is struggling to cope with an influx of patients with COVID-19.
