Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa means to strengthen relations and regional and international cooperation on issues of common concern.
During talks, both sides reviewed possibilities and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and other aspects of cooperation to meet aspirations set forth by the two countries and their peoples on achieving sustainable development, progress and prosperity.
The Crown Prince affirmed his country's determination to boost ties with South Africa in all fields to achieve common interests and fulfill aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity.
He went on saying that keenness to enhance ties comes from a state-adopted approach for building good and constructive relations with the various countries worldwide, based on mutual respect and common interests.
The UAE, under the leadership of His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to strengthen established partnerships with friendly African countries which will result in security, stability, development and prosperity benefits, he added.
More so, the UAE considers African countries an important ally.
For his part, the South African President stressed the “strong relations of friendship and cooperation” joining his country and Abu Dhabi.
“We look forward to enhancing this cooperation and working together to achieve common interests of both countries and peoples,” said Ramaphosa.
At the end of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of expanding horizons of joint cooperation and benefiting from the various potentials and possibilities available to both countries.
They stressed “the importance of promoting values of tolerance, understanding and mutual respect between the peoples and countries of the world, as the ideal means of coexistence and strengthening pillars of peace, security and stability in the world.”
