UAE Minister: Saudi-Led Dialogue Way forward in Yemen

United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash urged on Sunday the legitimate government of Yemen and the Southern Transitional Council to comply with Saudi Arabia’s initiative and hold dialogue to end tensions.

In a series of tweets, he said that dialogue led by Saudi Arabia is the way forward for Yemen.

“The coalition is concerned about the terrorists, including al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and ISIS, who will exploit the current escalation in the South,” he warned.

The UAE is part of the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen and it will continue to firmly work on preventing the re-emergence of terrorist groups in the country, he vowed.

The Arab coalition is working effectively and firmly to restore peace and stability in Yemen, Gargash added, demanding that internal unity be restored through ongoing dialogue to confront the Iran-backed Houthi coup.
