UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash criticized on Friday Qatar’s political behavior, pointing out to the contradictions in its work that are becoming costlier for it and Arabs.
He tweeted that Doha has been “playing on contradictions”, which is what sets its policy apart from others, but this role has become more difficult and costly for it.
He explained that “striking a balance between supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and other extremist groups, as well as hosting al-Qaeda and making concessions in sovereignty in favor of Iran and Turkey, has become more difficult.”
Moreover, he said that Qatar’s recent call to form a regional system that includes Iran and Turkey works against Arab attempts to regain control of their region. This step also goes against Washington’s approach on Iran.
