UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship said on Wednesday it started implementing a cabinet decision to issue five-year visas to eligible entrepreneurs.

The measure is in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi business incubator, HUB71, and the Dubai Future Foundation.

The government said the three entities will share knowledge and training to create “a conducive environment for investment and business” and develop strategies to attract entrepreneurs to the country.

Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Director General for Foreigners Affairs and Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, said the move is part of the cabinet decision that aims to regulate the issuance of residency visas to investors and entrepreneurs.

Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Dr. Mohammed Rashid Al Hamli, said that the UAE has become a destination for professionals looking for exceptional opportunities.

He said that he is committed to supporting close integration between various government entities and the private sector to promote pro-business government policies and development programs.

He further stated that the latest decision of the government will have a positive impact on the economy and cement its position as a global business hub.
