The United Arab Emirates and Iraq have signed a strategic partnership agreement on government modernization.

The deal aims to promote the exchange of expertise and make better use of human resources based on the best governance practices.

UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi and Chief of Staff of Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office Raed Jouhi signed the agreement.

The deal aims to allow Iraq to share the experience of the UAE government in upgrading the efficacy of government work through a package of strategic initiatives and projects that could create innovative solutions.

Gergawi stressed that the UAE is keen on fostering partnerships aimed at developing and modernizing government work, as well as improving the lives of communities.

He added that the strategic partnership is based on the solid ties between Iraq and the UAE.

The UAE government is keen on sharing its successful experience with the region and the world and benefiting from the innovative work models in other countries, Gergawi added.

Jouhi expressed Iraq’s desire to strengthen cooperation and open new horizons for the bilateral ties with the UAE.
