Sing 2 will see frontman Bono make his animated film debut as the voice of reclusive rock star lion Clay Calloway.

He stars alongside returning cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly and Nick Kroll.

Bobby Cannavale also joins the cast as ruthless mogul wolf named Jimmy Crystal, while the likes of Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric Andre, and Chelsea Peretti from Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Chelsea Peretti will also make their debut appearances in the new movie.

Sing 2 will also include covers of three U2 songs “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”and “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of”, according to Deadline.

U2 have contributed to numerous movie soundtracks over the years and have been nominated twice in the Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards for The Hands That Built America for Gangs of New York in 2003 and Ordinary Love from Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom in 2014.

Sing 2 is in cinemas in January.
