Vicky has weakened into a tropical depression and is expected to become a remnant low later in the day, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday.

The system is located about 1000 miles (1610 km) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands, packing maximum sustained winds of 35 miles-per-hour (55 km/h), the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
