Tropical Storm Omar has formed in the Atlantic near North Carolina, but is expected to be short-lived, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Tuesday.
Omar was located about 225 miles (365 km) east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, packing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles-per-hour (65 km/h), the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
