U.S. NHC says tropical storm Laura producing heavy rains over Dominican Republic

Tropical storm Laura was producing heavy rains over the Dominican Republic late on Saturday, the United States National Hurricane Center said.

Laura was located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Santo Domingo, with maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour, the NHC said in its advisory.
