Delta strengthened into a Category Three hurricane on Tuesday and is forecast to be an extremely dangerous Category Four hurricane when it reaches the Yucatan peninsula by Wednesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

Delta is located about 120 miles (190 km) southwest of Grand Cayman, packing a maximum sustained winds of 115 miles-per-hour (185 km/h), the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
