An important road each in six districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Ayodhya where the Ram Mandir is being built, will be named after former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, who died on Saturday aged 89, said State deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday.
Kalyan Singh was cremated at the Narora ghats in Bulandshahr in west U.P. and Home Minister Amit Shah was among those who attended the final ceremony.
Mr. Maurya, who like Kalyan Singh belongs to the OBC community, said the present and future generations will not be able to forget Kalyan Singh's contributions.
Mr. Maurya, who holds the PWD Ministry, said a road each in Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bulandshahr, Etah and Aligarh would be named after Singh.
Bulandshahr, Etah and Aligarh are districts where Singh was influential and members of his caste Lodh Rajput are in good numbers. Singh was born in Aligarh.

Mr. Maurya said that Singh, a two-time CM, had "sacrificed" his CM post for Lord Ram and Ram bhakts.
The Babri Masjid was demolished by a mob of karsevaks on December 6, 1992 under the watch of the Kalyan-Singh government following which it was dismissed.
But a special CBI court last year acquitted Singh and other Sangh Parivar leaders of charges of conspiring to demolish the mosque for lack of credible evidence.
"Babuji gave up his seat for the Ram Mandir but did not order firing at the karsevaks," Mr. Maurya said.
