Tyson Fury will "sort out" brother Tommy over £100,000 bet on Jake Paul fight

Tommy Fury has joked his brother will "sort him out" after the world heavyweight champion lost £100,000 betting on him to knock out Jake Paul last weekend.

The youngest Fury landed a huge victory on Sunday night when he handed YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul a first loss in his boxing career, outboxing him to a split-decision win over eight rounds. However, it wasn't all celebrations in the Brit's corner, with his older brother losing a six-figure bet after backing him to land a stoppage.

Tyson, the world heavyweight champion, joked after the fight that he would be losing big money like rapper Drake after the musician bet a massive amount on a Paul victory. However, Tommy has now said that he will "sort out" his multi-millionaire brother after earning a multi-million pound payday of his own in Riyadh.

"He pulled my collar after the fight and said we're going to have to sort this out," Fury told Good Morning Britain . "I've got a funny phone call awaiting me. It was amazing because in our family Tyson is the best, Tyson is the greatest to ever do it, he's the one from our family.

"On Sunday that was my little piece of glory and my time to shine. It was amazing because from a little kid I was always telling everyone that lightening would strike twice and there would be two very successful guys from our family, on Sunday I proved that.

"And Tyson was there supporting me, you could see the look over his face, he was so happy that I got the victory. I thoroughly deserve it because I've gone through some hard miles to get here and this is the start of my time at the top."

And while the elder Fury brother, who was joined by their entire family, was delighted to see his sibling win, the method may have slightly upset him. The Brit didn't at any point seem troubled, even when he was dropped in the eighth, but he couldn't get the stoppage that would have earned his brother a big payout.

“It was a brilliant fight, very entertaining,” Fury told BT Sport Boxing. “I’m very proud of Tommy. It was as big as any world title I’ve seen, it was one way then the other. I think Tommy boxed the head off him at times, and won 90 per cent of the rounds, but it was still competitive at times also.

"[Jake Paul] was better than I thought he’d be, to be fair. It looks like Drake lost his money! 335 bags [thousand pounds] down the toilet! But let me tell you a secret - I lost mine too. I bet for the knockout. We are both losers!”
