Tyson Fury wears bold shirt for daughter's christening as sons dress in matching suits

Tyson Fury wore a bold blue and gold shirt for his daughter Athena's christening over the weekend, as his three sons were dressed in matching grey suits.

It's standard fare for the father to wear a suit for a christening, but world heavyweight champion Fury opted to once again dress loudly for the plush ceremony. In photos posted by his wife Paris, the boxer could be seen posing alongside his six kids, including baby Athena whose special day they were celebrating.

He was joined by his brother Hughie and his wife Tiffany at the ceremony, which was put together by GO PR and Events, Pretty Elegant Events and The Kids Corner. Photos showed Tyson and Paris sharing a dance, as well as enjoying a laugh with singer Cole Page, who performed at the reception.

Fury has insisted he is retired from boxing, and appeared to be enjoying his time off in photos shared by his wife from the big day. Baby Athena is the pair's sixth child, and despite having originally toyed with the idea of having around eight, or as many as 11 kids, they have decided not to have any more.

Athena will celebrate her first birthday next month, after a tumultuous first few days when she was at one point feared to be dead after complications with her birth. She was born at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, and was immediately put on ventilators, with the family believing at an early stage that they may have lost her.

"It's been a bit of a white knuckle ride, we've had a lot to deal with," Fury's father John told BT Sport at the time. "But we've come out on the other side due to professionalism of Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.

"They're the best children's hospital in the country if not the world. They've been really magnificent, they've really saved her life because she was dead for three minutes and they brought her back, it's onwards and upwards from today."

The heavyweight champion was supposed to be in training camp for his first title defence against Deontay Wilder when his daughter was born. But he had to squeeze in exercise sessions with his dad throughout a difficult stay with his wife at the children's hospital.

But Athena ended up going home with her family and has looked in good health in recent photos, including a number of smiling pictures from Saturday's Christening. She can be seen laughing with her dad and mum in some photos, which were posted to social media by Paris today.

Fury is currently in the midst of a nationwide speaking tour where he is meeting fans and celebrating his retirement from the sport. But he is expected to meet with promoter Frank Warren soon to discuss his next steps, and a possible return to action.
