Tyson Fury wants to weigh massive 300 lbs for Deontay Wilder trilogy

Tyson Fury has claimed that he wants to weigh a massive 300 lbs for his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder next month, so he can land an even bigger knockout than their last fight.

The Gypsy King weighed in at 273 lbs for their second bout, which is just a pound shy of two stone lighter than his goal weight for the trilogy.

And despite hitting as high as 400 lbs at the depths of his issues with mental health, Fury has never fought at such a heavy size, only reaching 276 for his comeback bout with Sefer Seferi in 2018.

However, he feels that reaching such a weight will help him to finish Wilder even quicker than he did in their second fight, after the pair drew their first meeting in December 2018.

"I'll tell you how I see this fight," Fury told reporters at the press conference. "I gave my game plan away before because he's not good enough to do anything about it and I'll do the same again this time.

"Deontay Wilder is a one-trick pony, he's got one punch power, we all know that, great.

"But what I'm going to do to Deontay Wilder this time is I'm going to run him over like I'm an 18-wheeler and he's a human being and I guarantee you he does not go past where he did before.

"Before I only had five or six weeks of practicing what I was going to do to him, this time I've had 18 months, so that is what you're going to see.

"I'm building my weight up, I'm trying to get up to 300 lbs for this fight because I'm looking for a big knockout straight away.

"I don't believe he's mentally, physically or emotionally involved in this fight, and he's doing it for the wrong reasons.

"When people do things for the wrong reasons they wind up getting hurt and we'll see on fight night if I'm a man of my word and if I can run him over quicker than round seven, and I'm sure I will."

Fury almost had Wilder in his rearview after their two bouts, both of which many believe he won despite the official result of their first meeting being a draw.

He inked a deal last month with Anthony Joshua for a fight in Saudi Arabia on August 14, but missed out on the unification matchup due to arbitration brought by Team Wilder that ordered a trilogy between the rivals.

And he is now gearing up to face his former opponent one last time on July 24 in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena, with the heavyweight title on the line in his first ever defence.

He beat Wladimir Klitschko for the unified heavyweight title in 2015, but fell into a deep depression and forfeited the belts before coming back to beat Wilder, which he failed to do first time around before succeeding in their second bout.
