Tyson Fury did what was expected of him on Saturday night in Las Vegas. He dominated Tom Schwarz and scored a lopsided victory via second-round TKO.
Schwarz was a massive underdog coming into the fight and it looked like it for almost every second of the bout. Here is how the fight ended in Sin City.
And @Tyson_Fury ends it in Round 2. Had his way with Schwarz and wins via TKO. Great Las Vegas debut for Fury. #boxing #vegas #FurySchwarz pic.twitter.com/3Ouco7S8G4

Fury made Schwarz look like an amateur while the fight lasted. He landed the jab to the face and gut at will and maintained a safe distance between himself and the 25-year-old while chopping away at him. In the second round, Fury came out in the southpaw stance and Schwarz looked as if he’d seen a ghost.
He was tentative and Fury picked up on the apprehension and raised his aggression appropriately. He clubbed Schwarz’s face with a sweeping left hook that may have broken the latter’s nose, and that came just moments after he made him look silly with this display of defensive wizardry:

Schwarz began to eat tougher punches as the round went on and the injured nose appeared to be bothering him. Fury scored a knockdown against the ropes, but Schwarz made it to his feet. Clearly, Fury was ready for the bout to end as he pounced on Schwarz and forced referee Kenny Bayless to stop the fight as he pounded on his now defenseless foe in the corner. It was a masterclass performance from Fury and it added substance to the style he treated fans to before and after the fight.
Fury borrowed Apollo Creed’s “Living in America” theme for his entrance, which got a rise from the crowd.

His closing act was to serenade his wife with Aerosmith’s “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.”

If you think that’s corny, you might be right, but I’ll tell you what…Fury had a good number of the fans in attendance at the MGM Grand singing along with him. The man is an absolute showman, and he can really box. The rematch between him and Deontay Wilder is going to be a humongous event. Fury’s opponent wasn’t as much of a danger as Wilder faced with Dominic Breazeale, and it definitely wasn’t on par with the challenge Anthony Joshua failed when he lost to Andy Ruiz two weeks ago.
However, Fury accomplished his goal. He came to America, won and put on a show in the process.
