Tyson Fury vs Tom Schwarz: Brit vows to retire from boxing if he suffers shock defeat like Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury claims he will retire from boxing if he loses to Tom Schwarz as it will be a sign he is "shot" fighter.

The lineal heavyweight champion returns to the ring for the first time since his dramatic draw with Deontay Wilder.

And after Anthony Joshua's shock loss to Andy Ruiz Jr, Fury believes a similar upset would leave him ready to hang up the gloves.

“I’m the best of my era and if I can’t beat Tom Schwarz, I might as well retire,” Fury told Telegraph Sport.

“There is a difference between a man who fights well under pressure, and the man who goes to the office not feeling great and still gets a victory.

“I can have a bad day, but I can still grind victories out of bad days,”

“It’s a difference in champions. If I can’t beat Tom Schwarz then what is the point in boxing anymore? I must be shot.

“We won’t know until we get in there. A lot of people say I might be chinny after the Deontay Wilder fight. We don’t know. It’s exciting times.”

Fury has already been lined up to rematch Wilder should the Bronze Bomber beat Luis Ortiz in another rematch.

It remains unclear whether Fury will seek an interim fight before fighting Wilder again.
