After his World Heavyweight Championship title defence against Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, Tyson Fury declared to the public that it would be his last fight. He then announced that a potential world championship bout against Anthony Joshua would be his next fight should 'AJ' beat Oleksandry Usyk in their rematch next month.
Now, the Gypsy King appears to be lining up yet another opponent in the form of 'Game of Thrones' star and former World's Strongest Man Hafthor Bjornsson, otherwise known as Thor. He has confirmed that talks have been taking place in an interview with the Telegraph, saying that he expects to fight before the end of the year.
"It would be a bit of fun," Fury explained. "It would be great to get in there in front of, say, 70,000 fans and show him what boxing is all about, make him miss, and knock him out. We are talking to his team at the moment and it is definitely something I'm interested in.”

Fury remains the undefeated WBC world heavyweight champion and is yet to vacate his belt, which means that he is likely to stay out of exhibition fights until this is resolved either way, but he remains focused on drawing attention to the possibilities which may await him. He has previously entertained the idea of fighting against UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in an exhibition.
In the interview with Gareth A. Davies, Fury said that he is keen to explore available avenues and dismissed his own comments on a potential fight against Joshua or Usyk.
"I'm not overly concerned with Anthony Joshua and Usyk in Saudi Arabia next month, whoever wins, because I've achieved everything I wanted to as a professional boxer, undefeated and having won all the belts. There are so many other things I can go on and do,” he said.
Thor also confirmed the talks in an interview with IFL TV, saying: “I know that there are some negotiations going on and some talks, but nothing is complete.
“If it did happen, I would gladly step into the ring and I would gladly fight him," He also called out the 33-year-old undefeated heavyweight in a recent Instagram video.
Whatever the outcome, Fury is succeeding in drumming up attention for his next fight and the boxing world is keenly awaiting his next move which is likely to come following the outcome of Joshua vs Usyk.
