Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3: 'No chance' of fight behind closed doors, says Frank Warren

British promoter Frank Warren insists there is "no chance" of a trilogy bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder taking place behind closed doors.

After Fury emphatically claimed Wilder's WBC strap with a seventh-round stoppage win February, the pair were set to square of once more in Las Vegas in a fight now unlikely to happen before November at the earliest due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) are targeting a July return but have already detailed a number of strict conditions - most notably that no fans be in attendance.

Eddie Hearn admits Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin may yet face-off behind closed doors, but remains adamant an alternative scenario - such as travelling abroad - will be the case for Anthony Joshua.

Meanwhile, Warren believes it will initially be "British-title level" fights that return without live audiences, however.

"There's not going to be big-name fighters out there," Warren told BBC Radio 5 Live. "There is no chance of Fury v Wilder behind closed doors."

Fury's American promoter Bob Arum last month said a lack of gate receipts could see the fight date pushed back significantly.

"The fans in the last fight put in almost $17million into the coffers in purchase of tickets... how do you replace that $17m?" he said in a Top Rank Boxing interview. "I mean, you don't.

"A Fury-Wilder fight might have to wait a couple more months until we can go back to full spectators."
